I graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music, one of the UK's foremost conservatoires.
My teaching experience has taken me to Finland, USA, throughout the UK and spans over 20 years.
I have taught at conservatoire and primary school level. My students have ranged in age from 5 years to 65 years.

Projects in the areas of education and out-reach, with the leading organisation and individuals - including the London Sinfonietta - has given me the widest possible teaching base.

I am currently a tutor of guitar at Colchester Institute, where I have students in classical, steel string, electric guitar and bass guitar, in a wide cross section of genres. Since my appointment in 2008, all my students have either graduated or passed onto the next phase of study, with honours.

Aldeburgh Young Musicians is an advanced mentoring scheme talented individuals from 11-18, where I have recently been invited to teach. My student at AYM, has already participated in an exciting project at London's South Bank Centre, Royal Festival Hall, with conductor Marin Alsop, performing Leonard Bernstein's 'Simple Song' from his work 'Mass'.
